Piacenza to discover
Surprising landscapes, different realities, discovering places, always precious, often unique: this is the Province of Piacenza, "heart between the Po river and the Apennines", that offers visitors art towns, castles, history, wine and food, cultural heritage and intact neighbourhood in every season.

Piacenza Province is a strong economical reality: it has an important food processing district, which is one of the most competitive in Italy; small and medium productive companies open to innovation (three faculties of a lively and developing University System), excelling in agriculture, food and food processing; one of the major Italian logistic development centre, thanks to a privileged position, junction of important communication routes (road, railway, water), infrastructures (military airport) and now Civil Defence headquarter for Northern Italy, thanks to its strategic position.

Piacenza tourism has great numbers and great potentialities; since now it has been a regular destination for visitors mostly coming from the Lombardy area, attracted by local food and wines, products of an excellent food cultural tradition which propose cheeses such as Grana Padano and Provolone, three DOP dry cured products (coppa, salami and pancetta); wines such as Gutturnio, Barbera, Bonarda, Trebbianino, Monterosso and Vin Santo (18 DOC wines from the territory), first courses such as anolini, pisarei and faso, tortelli: healthy foods that can be tasted along the four valleys of this region such as Tidone Valley with its castles (Rocca d'Olgisio famous eagles'nest); the uncontaminated and historical Luretta Valley, D'Arda Valley with its castles and the archeological site of the ancient roman Veleia, the medieval suburbs of Castell'Arquato and Vigoleno, the Cistercian abbey of Chiaravalle; Trebbia Valley, Bobbio, Rivalta and the unique natural heritage of the great river and its woods, Nure Valley with its mountains and savage nature.
